We have an opportunity for a self-motivated cost estimator and scheduler to join our growing Kennedy Jenks team. Our team works on some of the most challenging and complex projects our clients face, including the nutrient reduction from wastewater treatment facilities, regional stormwater treatment projects, and rehabilitation projects related to aging infrastructure. We have a strong, growing presence in the design and construction management market including alternative delivery projects. We are looking for an ambitious achiever to join our team and support our clients' growing project needs.


Key Responsibilities:


You will be working alongside our diverse, multi-disciplinary design and construction management teams to prepare bottom-up and top-down cost estimates. This includes preparing estimates from plans/drawings and documents or analyzing estimates or cost proposals/change orders prepared by others. You will help prepare detailed project schedules and review project schedules provided by contractors to assess for completeness and reasonableness.


You'll be working with a supportive project and operations teams who are invested in your personal and professional growth. You will also have opportunities to provide feedback and update our estimating and scheduling standards and processes to improve overall quality.

Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in engineering and/or construction
  • An estimating certification or professional engineering license
  • Knowledge of quantity computations, unit price analyses including labor, material, equipment, overhead, and profit computations, and application of appropriate contingencies based on risk assessments
  • Ability to review and interpret construction plans and specifications
  • Ability to create and maintain project schedules
  • Ability to complete schedule reviews and forensics
  • Ability to build AACE Class 5-2 estimates


Kennedy Jenks supports a healthy work-life balance and utilizes a hybrid model of home and office work, with a minimum of two days per week in the office. This approach empowers our people to thrive, collaborate, and achieve their full potential.


Annual salary for this position is anticipated to be $90,000 to $120,000 and will vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications and geographic location.
