MAA is currently accepting applications for the position of Sign Operations Supervisor (Administrator II) within the Office of Grounds Maintenance at the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Scheduling, inspecting, and approving all sign-related requests.
- Managing the complete production cycle for all signage, including design, fabrication, and final installation of signs, banners, and posters.
- Oversee the maintenance and coordination of daily Sign Shop work orders.
- Delegate and oversee project work assignments for skilled trade personnel.
- Organizing and monitoring all jobs done by outside contractors for signage.
This position is an emergency essential position. All employees designated as emergency essential are required to be available to work during weather, operational and/or disaster emergency conditions. Furthermore, this position requires work in a 24- hour facility and you must be available to work any shift as required by the operational needs of the MAA.

Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Five years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.
Selective Qualification: *Two years of this experience must include sign design usingRaster Image Processor (RIP) software such as FlexiSIGN/FlexiCOMPLETE and Roland VersaWorks, or similar software.
*This statement contains a Selective Qualification, which is more focused in scope than the Minimum Qualifications for this classification. Selective Qualifications are utilized when the position requires a specific or additional bona fide occupational qualifications (i.e., knowledge, skills, or abilities).
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher- ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

Licenses & Certifications

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
1. Employees applying for the Sign Operations Supervisor (Administrator II) position may be required to possess and maintain a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) valid in the State of Maryland, depending on the type of equipment operated, that may be required for continued employment. This includes obtaining and maintaining a valid US DOT Medical Card (or MVA-issued waiver) every two years. Note: Employees must meet all Department of Budget and Management policies required for operation of State-owned vehicles.
2. Employees may be required to satisfy the employing administration's training and certification program requirements to obtain and maintain permanent status in this classification.
3. Employees seeking transfer to another administration may be required to satisfy that administration's training and certification program requirements.
5. Maryland Aviation Administration employees assigned to the BWI Airport must obtain an MAA Airfield Operators Permit in accordance with the Code of Maryland Regulations 11.03.01.04, Control of Vehicular Traffic on the Air Operations Area, prior to permanent appointment.
