About the Role:

Pursuit Aerospace is looking for a motivated and hands-on Intern to support our tooling and manufacturing teams. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building, fixing, and creating mechanical solutions. You will work alongside experienced tool makers and engineers to learn safe and effective methods for making, maintaining, and improving tools used in production and assembly environments.

This internship provides a strong foundation in machining, fabrication, measurement, and problem-solving, perfect for individuals interested in careers in tool making, precision manufacturing, or engineering technology.

Location: Stuart, FL - On Site (Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM)

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the fabrication, assembly, and repair of tooling, fixtures, jigs, and shop equipment.
  • Support machining tasks such as cutting, drilling, grinding, sanding, and basic machine setup under supervision.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and measurement devices to support tool making activities.
  • Help interpret technical drawings, sketches, and instructions provided by tool makers or engineers.
  • Perform basic maintenance and organization of tooling materials, shop equipment, and workstations.
  • Assist with inspection of tools and fixtures to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Learn and follow proper safety procedures for machining, fabrication, and shop operations.
  • Support process improvements and participate in troubleshooting activities when tools or fixtures require adjustments.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time bases without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in machining, fabrication, and hands-on mechanical work.
  • Basic familiarity with machine shop tools such as drill presses, grinders, lathes, mills.
  • Ability to use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work safely, follow instructions, and collaborate with experienced technicians.

Working Conditions:

  • Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand, and walk.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
