PCI is seeking an experienced Director of Labor Relations for our specialty contracting business operations. This individual is responsible for developing and strengthening relationships between PCI and the various Trade Unions which PCI engages throughout the country, and contributing to the internal education, training and development of PCI's personnel; and will assist as needed as a liaison between PCI and the Unions for negotiations and dispute resolution.
- Establish and/or strengthen relationships with unions with which we are signatory or work with through PLAs or other labor agreements.
- Develop network of contact with leadership of unions to build relationships and communication lines on a national, regional and local basis
- Create training opportunities between unions and PCI personnel, including apprentice and leadership training.
- Attend trade shows, national conventions and training events sponsored by unions and associations
- Participation in negotiations and dispute resolution
- Coordinate, collect and share information with internal stakeholders, including all CBA, PLA, NMA and any other labor agreements
- Contribute to employee education of union relations, agreements, negotiations, issues and current trends
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Labor Relations, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in labor relations in a supervisory or managerial role
Minimum Requirements
- Solid understanding of labor laws, regulations, and practices in the United States.
- Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and experience with union relations.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse groups.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with trade unions, company personnel, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with MS Office Suite.
- Proven track record of successful negotiations and dispute resolution with trade unions.
- Knowledge of industry-specific labor market trends, union organizing efforts, and prevailing wage regulations.
- Experience developing and implementing labor relations strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex labor relations issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Ability to travel as needed to various company locations and union offices throughout the United States.
Preferred Requirements:
- Certification in labor relations or related professional organizations.
- Experience working in the construction industry or with specialty contractors.
- Experience managing labor relations in a geographically dispersed organization.
