STS Line Maintenance is hiring experienced A&P Mechanics to support line maintenance operations in Syracuse, New York (SYR). This role supports the daily maintenance needs of our airline customers and plays a critical part in delivering safe, reliable, and on time aircraft service. Job Responsibilities & Duties
- Report directly to the Line Maintenance Station Manager and Station Leads
- Work closely with field airlines, flight crews, and Aircraft Maintenance Controllers
- Ensure aircraft are maintained to airworthiness standards prescribed by applicable regulations, airworthiness directives, company policies, and best practices
- Inspect, test, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair transport category aircraft airframes and engines using hand tools and test equipment
- Maintain the highest level of quality and integrity
- Adjust, repair, or replace defective components based on analysis of test results while following maintenance manuals, schematics, handbooks, and technical documentation
- Use precision instruments and equipment to measure parts for wear and repair or replace as required
- Perform additional duties as deemed necessary
- Work outdoors and in inclement weather as required
- Perform maintenance on Commercial and Large Regional aircraft including Airbus A320, CRJ, and Embraer 170 platforms
Ideal Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
- Current and valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification with no history of infractions
- Recent A&P experience on turbine powered aircraft preferred
- Own set of standard line maintenance tools with calibrated and specialty tooling provided
- Self motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to stand, climb ladders and stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs unassisted with or without accommodations
- Ability to pass background check and drug and alcohol screening
- Ability to obtain Customs and Border Patrol clearance
- Basic to mid level computer and organizational skills
- Experience working under FAA approved Part 145 repair station or Part 135 environment preferred
- Inspection Authorization license is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
- Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong customer focus, communication skills, and work ethic
