The IT Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for the university's technology infrastructure, systems, and services. This role ensures the institution's technology resources effectively advance teaching, learning, research, and administrative goals. The IT Manager oversees multiple related teams, manages resources and priorities, and promotes a culture of excellence, innovation, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Nature of Work
Develops, maintains, and supports computer systems, software, and networks. Functions may include enterprise operations, distributed computing, academic computing, research computing, computer hardware and software management, networking, telecommunications, systems development, database administration, server administration, website management, end user engineering, and service desk operations.

Shift
- This position is onsite 8am-5pm M-F, and may be periodically required to work after-hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as required to meet the needs of our customers. This may include managing impactful incidents, maintenance events, or project implementations. Primarily on campus, with flexibility for remote or hybrid work as approved.
- Occasional evening or weekend work for system maintenance or project implementation
- Limited travel for professional development or inter-campus collaboration
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience, or Master's degree and 4+ years of related experience, or Doctorate and 2+ years of related experience
- Certifications: ITIL v4, PMP, CISSP, Azure/AWS, or equivalent are highly preferred
- Financial analysis skills
- Strong skills with reporting analytics
- Proficient in identifying grants to support IT projects
Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $59,738 - $84,968 annually. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck. The University of Missouri provides generous leave, health plans, and retirement contributions that add to your bottom line.
