Restaurant Supervisor-Independent Living

The Terrace Restaurant Supervisor, supervises and instruct the restaurant service employees in the sanitation, safety, maintenance, and operation of the dining services department

Duties:

• Supervise, assign tasks, and instruct employees in the efficient daily operation of dining service areas and the correct use of equipment.
• Work with managers, dietitians, social workers, and nursing to ensure the satisfaction and needs of residents.
• Supervise the service of meals and maintain safety, sanitation, and housekeeping standards.
• Assists with new hire training. Trains staff through in-service classes and department meetings
• Assists with employee discipline process and documentation.
• Assists manager with employee evaluation performance through annual performance appraisals and on the job coaching.
• Delivers corrective action and attendance notifications if necessary.
• Assists in monthly both food and physical safety trainings.
• Helps to create schedules on a bi-weekly basis for employees if assigned.
• Other assigned duties by the manager.

In manager's absence, performs necessary job duties to ensure smooth operation

• Responsible for maintaining accuracy of HACCP logs (food temp logs) as well as refrigerator/freezer and sanitizer logs.
• Takes part in prospective employee interviews.
• Attends scheduled meetings.
• Provides ideas for innovation and improvement within Luther Manor's dining services.
• Assists in monthly safety trainings

• Demonstrated ability to successfully anticipate guests' needs.
• Ability to tour kitchens and dining areas to supervise and inspect.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both written and orally to successfully supervise staff
• Transport trays and carts with an average weight of 50 lbs.
• Presents oneself in a positive and courteous manner while interacting with residents.
• Work effectively as a team member as well as individually and work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
