GPCS is seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as a Communications and Community Engagement Specialist.
As a Communications and Community Engagement Specialist at GPCS you will be responsible for leading, developing, and executing agency communication strategies as well as enhancing community awareness and engagement.
Specifically, you will: • Develop and execute comprehensive internal and external communications strategies including setting measurable goals and overseeing their successful implementation. • Oversee and maintain the agency website. • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive social media plan. • Plan, manage, and execute the logistics for all agency-sponsored community events. • Represent GPCS at external functions. • Build, strengthen, and sustain relationships with existing community partners. • Cultivate new strategic partnerships to expand the agency’s network and resource base. • Oversee and execute high-quality production of all external publications, including marketing materials, brochures, press releases, reports, and official external correspondence. • Develop and provide presentations, reports, and dashboards on key data points related to communications strategy, website use, and agency event participation.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications: • A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training that clearly demonstrates the required knowledge, skills,and abilities will also be considered. • At least six months of relevant experience in public relations and/or communications, preferably within a nonprofit or governmental organization. • Proven ability to develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive communication and outreach strategies that effectively engage diverse audiences. • Strong experience managing an organization’s social media presence and overseeing website content and development. • Demonstrated success in planning, coordinating, and executing organizational events and outreach initiatives. • A track record of cultivating strategic partnerships and building a robust professional network to support organizational goals. • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to a variety of audiences. • Ability to exercise sound independent judgment, with a resourceful and proactive approach to problem-solving and conflict resolution.

Salary range is $54,000-60,000 based on qualifications.

GPCS is a Community Services Board (CSB). As a CSB we provide a continuum of community-based education, prevention, crisis intervention, counseling, and rehabilitation to individuals, families, and groups in need of mental health, intellectual disability, and/or substance use disorder services.
Salary/Compensation: $54,000 - $60,000 per year
