Compensation: $24.00 per hour

Pace Analytical Services is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Generalist to join our dynamic finance team. This position will be based onsite at our Westborough, MA administration building but will offer a hybrid schedule opportunities after a completed training period.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performs month end financial activities (Journal Entries, Accruals, Credit Review/Submission, etc.).
  • Generates financial reports for sales and leadership (Revenue, Forecast, Markup, etc.).
  • Researches and resolves customer billing issues/disputes, and invoice adjustments.
  • Investigates and resolves issues involving revenue, GL, etc., related ad hoc reporting.
  • Performs processing of invoices; submits invoices to customer; maintains accounts payable portals.
  • Researches and resolves Aging Accounts Receivable Balances, Small Balances, Unapplieds, etc.
  • Calculates, reviews, and audits Sales Tax for specialized Equipment and Service invoicing; as required.
  • Processes improvement/error research and correction for billing systems; QA analysis and reporting, to include billing error tracking and audit requests.
  • Reviews and approves expense reports.
  • Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
  • Promotes and supports the overall mission of Pace Analytical by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with customers and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

Associate's degree in accounting or a related field; AND two (2) years of accounting administrative support experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Required Knowledge

  • Principles and practices of accounts receivable transactions.
  • Practices of reviewing financial documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Computer applications related to the work.
  • Financial record keeping and accounting practices and techniques.
  • Correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary.
  • Standard business arithmetic, including percentages and decimals.
  • Principles and practices to serving as an effective project team member.

Required Skills

  • Compiling and reviewing financial figures for completeness, accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Resolving invoicing issues/disputes.
  • Interpreting, applying and explaining corporate policies and procedures.
  • Using tact, discretion, and initiative within established guidelines.
  • Researching, compiling, and summarizing a variety of financial analyses and reports.
  • Composing correspondence and other written independently or from brief instructions.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work.
  • Organizing work, setting priorities, meeting critical deadlines, and following up assignments with a minimum of direction.
  • Contributing effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives and activities.
  • Maintaining databases, forms, documents and related information.

Working Environment
Work is performed in an office setting. Work is subject to chemicals, fumes, gasses, noxious odors, and related items in a lab setting.
