Continental Properties is looking for a Fund Controller to join our Accounting team! Our ideal candidate is someone who thrives working in a dynamic and changing environment. As the Fund Controller, you will oversee the accounting, financial statements, and reporting for Continental's real estate investment funds. Your responsibilities will include oversight of fund-level reporting and coordination of investor equity contributions and distributions. You will work closely with our third-party fund administrator to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of reporting. You thrive in fast-paced environments, adapting quickly and learning on the fly. - Serve as the primary liaison for the third-party fund administrator, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of all financial activities, including capital calls, distributions, management fees, and investor statements.
- Review and validate the financial statements, investor reports, and other deliverables provided by the third-party administrator, ensuring accuracy and compliance with fund agreements and accounting standards.
- Manage the day-to-day accounting for fund parent entities, ensuring completion of required journal entries in accordance with our monthly close calendar.
- Oversee the audit of fund financial statements, collaborating with both third-party administrators and Continental team members to facilitate timely delivery of audit documentation to external auditors.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial reporting standards required under ASC 820 (Fair Value Measurements) and ASC 946 (Financial Services - Investment Companies).
- Serve as a cross-functional leader, collaborating with various departments to ensure accuracy of information, to inform leadership on strategic decisions, and to ensure compliance with regulatory and tax requirements.
Skills for Success:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.
- CPA is required.
- 10+ years of accounting experience in real estate, public accounting, investment, or fund accounting.
- Proficient with Excel and MRI or related ERP system.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to proactively manage multiple short and long-term tasks, as well as tight deadlines and time sensitive pressures, and remain even-tempered.
- In depth understanding of US GAAP, accounting transactions, internal controls, balance sheet and income statement preparation, revenue recognition, account reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and journal entries.

Final compensation is based on a variety of factors, including a candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity. This range does not include bonus potential or other forms of compensation and benefits. Salary Range: $146,000 - $180,000 annually
