Job Summary:

The Director of Training, Fundraising Success designs scalable learning experiences that elevate the success of 200+ event fundraisers across peer-to-peer, social (galas/luncheons/golf), and DIY fundraising. This role delivers high-impact onboarding and continuous development that drives revenue growth and deeper donor engagement. Ideal for a self-directed leader who thrives in a dynamic environment, this position partners closely with senior fundraising leadership to shape and execute training strategy. The role reports to the Senior Vice President of Peer-to-Peer and Event Fundraising.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver high-impact training experiences for fundraisers at all levels across peer-to-peer, social and DIY campaigns.

  • Build scalable, role-specific onboarding and development programs that accelerate staff readiness and long-term performance.

  • Partner with fundraising leaders (VPs, Assistant VPs) to identify skill gaps, training needs, and opportunities for performance improvement.

  • Drive alignment across campaigns and regions by establishing shared training standards, common language, and clear expectations that enable fundraisers to move in the same direction.

  • Translate fundraising strategies into actionable training content, tools, and experiences that drive revenue and donor engagement.

  • Create and maintain a library of resources, toolkits, and on-demand learning content aligned to core fundraising competencies, ensuring content is accessible, equitable, and inclusive for all fundraisers, regardless of geography, tenure, or background.

  • Track and measure training effectiveness using feedback, adoption, and performance outcomes; apply data to inform continuous improvement.

  • Partner across the organization (e.g., People & Culture, Marketing, Operations, Technology) to ensure fundraising training aligns with adult learning best practices, organizational values, and the systems, processes, and tools that support execution.

  • Stay current on fundraising trends, learning science, and instructional best practices to evolve the Society's learning strategy over time.

  • Serve as a visible champion for fundraiser development, growth, and performance culture.

What We're Looking For:
  • 5+ years of experience in fundraising, team leadership, sales enablement, adult learning, or a related field

  • Ability to travel up to 20% for regional meetings, training delivery, or project work

  • Deep understanding of event fundraising strategies, tools, and campaign models (peer-to-peer, galas, DIY)

  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to engage audiences in both virtual and in-person settings

  • Confidence and credibility to partner with and support senior leaders, including Vice Presidents and Assistant Vice Presidents

  • Experience creating resources, presentations, or guides that support skill development and adoption

  • Proficiency in MS Office, (PowerPoint, Excel, Teams), with working knowledge of emerging tools like CoPilot

  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new tools, including virtual instructor-led software ande-Learning authoring tools

  • Ability to analyze training impact through data collection, reporting, and feedback loops

  • Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and lead projects from concept to execution with minimal oversight

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience building training programs in a distributed nonprofit or sales environment, including experience onboarding and mentoring fundraisers and cross-functional teams

  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, Kirkpatrick)

  • Experience with e-learning tools and/or learning management systems (e.g., Workday Learning)

  • Understanding of how training supports performance outcomes in fundraising or sales contexts

Location Requirements

  • Remote - Flexible Location

  • Work is primarily performed remotely, however, when possible and necessary, teams meet in person to conduct the business of the organization and build team relationships.

Compensation | Benefits:

The estimated hiring compensation range for this role is $80,000-$100,000. Final offers will be based on the candidate'sgeographic location, consider career experience and may vary from this range due to these and other factors.
