This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

The Chief of Staff serves as a strategic advisor and operational extension of the Vice President of HLS Manufacturing, enabling executive effectiveness through proactive management of priorities, communications, and cross-functional initiatives. This role helps translate the VP's vision into executable plans and ensures alignment across the HLS Manufacturing organization to achieve critical program milestones.

This position works closely with all levels of the organization and requires flexibility to support a manufacturing operation that operates beyond standard business hours. This role is based in Merritt Island, FL and is on-site only.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as trusted advisor and strategic thought partner to the VP of HLS Manufacturing
  • Manage the VP's complex calendar, prioritize requests, and ensure focus on high-impact activities
  • Synthesize data and create executive briefings to support strategic decision-making
  • Drive special projects and cross-functional initiatives on behalf of the VP
  • Facilitate effective communication between the VP and internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, manufacturing teams, and cross-functional partners
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and develop solutions to improve organizational effectiveness
  • Represent the VP in meetings where appropriate and follow up on action items
  • Create and maintain program management artifacts to track progress against key objectives
  • Prepare materials for executive reviews, Board meetings, and other high-visibility presentations
  • Coordinate with the broader HLS program team to ensure manufacturing activities are aligned with program milestones

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related technical field
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or related industries
  • 3+ years of experience in project/program management, operations, or strategic roles
  • Proven track record of effective stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical abilities and data-driven decision-making experience
  • Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience solving technical problems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree in relevant field
  • Previous experience in a Chief of Staff or similar role supporting senior leadership
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience, particularly in human spaceflight programs
  • Deep understanding of lunar lander or spacecraft manufacturing processes
  • Experience with production operations and manufacturing excellence principles
  • Knowledge of government contracting and NASA program requirements
  • Certified as a Six Sigma Blackbelt in Lean Manufacturing

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical

  • Paid Time Off: Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
