| Position Summary |
The Facilities and Security Coordinator is responsible to the Facilities Director for assisting with the management of facilities operations and building security for the University of Georgia Libraries' facilities, with a primary focus on the Main Library. The coordinator enforces conduct policies, monitors alarm systems, security cameras, and other related systems, and serves as a resource and authority to the student security workforce. This position also monitors building maintenance and projects through the Facilities Management Division (
FMD) and other outside contractors, may place work requests for building issues, prepare areas for renovation and/or relocation, and assist with the coordination of special events and projects as they arise, as well as various administrative tasks in support of the building operations.
The standard work schedule for this position includes Thursday 4pm-2am, Friday 11:30am-9:30pm, Saturday 9:30am-7:30pm, Sunday 11am-9pm. This schedule will be modified as necessary to ensure coverage and accommodate changes in building hours between semesters. |

- Enforces procedures and policies to promote a secure environment for all areas within both Libraries buildings that are open to the public.

- Assists the Facilities Director and Main Security Lead in all areas of renovation and relocation projects through the Libraries facilities by moving furniture, surplusing items, prepping areas, and arranging alternative spaces during these processes.

- Works with the Security Lead to assist with hiring and supervising student security assistants for the Main and Science Libraries. Prepares and updates training manual and procedures as needed.
- Addresses issues in performance of procedures as problems arise.
