POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Director of Operations is responsible for leading organizational operations, driving process improvement, and ensuring the effective delivery of services across all programs. This role partners closely with executive leadership, project managers, and cross-functional teams to align operational performance with strategic goals while maintaining the highest standards of quality, timeliness, and customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop innovative methods to improve organizational operations and identify new opportunities for growth.
- Establish forward-looking operational strategies, define goals, implement action plans, and evaluate outcomes.
- Lead focus groups and working sessions to develop and validate solutions that enhance organizational performance.
- Monitor and evaluate internal and external issues impacting the organization; brief the President and Board as appropriate.
- Conduct root-cause analysis, gather and interpret relevant data, propose solutions, and drive resolution of operational challenges.
- Represent the organization at community events to strengthen visibility, engagement, and partnerships.
- Maintain regular communication with stakeholders to share organizational updates and identify emerging community needs.
- Build collaborative relationships with community groups to advance organizational goals.
- Ensure operations consistently meet customer expectations while adhering to project budgets.
- Coordinate quality and cost-containment initiatives in partnership with the Quality Control team.
- Maintain comprehensive operational status reports-including case volume, delivery timelines, quality metrics, and staff productivity.
- Facilitate division-level working groups dedicated to continuous improvement of performance, quality, and timeliness.
- Work closely with Field Operations, Training, Quality Control, Business Operations, IT, Finance, HR, Business Development, Security, and Contracts teams to support operational objectives.
- Partner with Project Managers to evaluate staffing needs for program delivery and organizational planning.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Finance to prepare budgets; support the President and Finance in securing sufficient funding for organizational operations.
- Provide training and development opportunities to support employee growth, skill advancement, and overall team effectiveness.
- Perform additional leadership and mid-level management tasks as assigned.
- Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.
QUALIFICATIONS
- S. citizenship.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Active, in-scope TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- Minimum 5 years of general program/project management experience (PMP preferred).
- At least 3 years of experience in background investigations and 5 years in personnel security, investigations, adjudications, or polygraph (Personnel Security Investigator experience strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial management, budget development, and project P&L.
- Strong understanding of leadership and management principles applicable to U.S. Government clients.
- Awareness of challenges impacting the organization's mission and the communities it serves.
- Knowledge of IT systems and how technology supports operational efficiency and process improvement.
- Experience in team building, leadership development, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Understanding of the business development lifecycle and high-level familiarity with U.S. government procurement processes.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are Monday-Friday standard core hours, however some extended or weekend hours may be required.
