Job Description




As a Security Officer - Entry Access Control in Georgetown, DE, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer specializing in access control at a leading food and beverage location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and interact with employees and visitors to provide exceptional customer service and communication. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver's license in the job state. What You'll Do:

  • Monitor and control access to the facility, verifying credentials and authorizations for entry and exit to help to deter unauthorized individuals from entering restricted areas.
  • Follow site-specific policies and procedures related to access control, including checking identification and maintaining visitor logs as required.
  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by answering questions and offering assistance regarding access protocols and facility directions.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following Allied Universal protocols and site-specific instructions.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to observe for unusual activity and help to deter potential security-related concerns.
  • Document and report any irregularities, incidents, or suspicious activities according to Allied Universal and client procedures.
  • Assist with emergency response activities, including guiding personnel during evacuations or lockdowns as instructed by site management or emergency services.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
