UVA Health is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join its Gynecologic Oncology team at UVA Medical Center. This position offers the opportunity to practice in a leading academic medical center alongside a collaborative team of physicians, APPs, and oncology specialists dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
The APP hired for this position will participate in the full spectrum of gynecologic oncology and benign gynecology surgical care, including: *Providing inpatient care for gynecologic oncology and gynecologic patients, including pre- and post-operative management. *Conducting emergency room (ER) consults for gynecologic oncology and benign gynecology patients. *Supporting multidisciplinary coordination of patient care in collaboration with the attending gynecologic oncologists and other team members. Following a comprehensive 2-4 month onboarding period (depending on experience), the APP will function with growing autonomy, supported by a close-knit team that values both independence and collaboration. Preferred experience: * 2+ years as an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) preferred, but new graduates welcome to apply * Oncology or Gynecology experience preferred but not required; applicants with an interest in oncology and complex acute care are encouraged to apply. * Must demonstrate a high level of clinical autonomy, excellent critical thinking, and the ability to practice independently in a fast-paced environment. * ACLS certification required (may be obtained upon hire). * Collaborative, adaptable, and skilled in communicating within a multidisciplinary team setting. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a master's degree. Experience: Department and unit specific. Licensure: License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Associate, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, and Certified Nurse Midwife) as set forth by the state of Virginia. If Nurse Practitioner, license to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required. Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of UVA Health System, the Virginia Board of Medicine or the Virginia Board of Nursing, and appropriate certifying bodies. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Current PALS/NRP, as required, specific to position. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as required, specific to position. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs.
