Kurz Wind, a division of Kurz Industrial Solutions, is a leading aftermarket parts provider for the wind industry. We partner with wind farms to provide premier solutions and services to keep turbines running with OEM and ungraded components.

Role Mission:

As the Business Development Representative(BDR) with the Renewables Division at Kurz, your primary responsibility is to drive new business growth and deepen relationships with existing customers through proactive outreach and consultative, solution-based selling. You'll become a technical expert in renewable energy systems, including wind, solar, and energy storage , and serve as a front-line resource for 80% of technical inquiries.

Working closely with Account Managers and technical experts, you'll lead the early states of the sales cycle, including outreach, qualification, quoting, and product recommendation. Your goal is to drive sales through relationship building and technical expertise in renewable energy.

This is a remote-first position, with opportunities for training, site visits, and industry engagements.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Sales Operations: Use our NetSuite system for order/quote entry, PO processing, and inventory recommendations. Conduct outbound outreach (calls, emails, CRM) to identify new opportunities and nurture existing accounts. Handle pre-sales activities including quoting, solution matching, and customer qualification. Own follow-ups on open and expiring quotes; document and track activity in CRM.
  • Customer Advocacy: Advocate for clients, maintaining clear communication via phone, email, and CRM/ERP systems. Recommend solutions based on cost, lead time, and system performance across wind, solar, and energy storage sectors.
  • Technical Expertise: Become a trusted industry resource, recommending products based on cost, availability, and performance. Serve as a technical advisor on renewable components, confidently addressing performance specs, application fit, and common troubleshooting questions.
  • Supplier Relations: Maintain strong supplier relationships for accurate information on availability and delivery. Collaborate with engineering and technical staff to resolve complex inquiries (~20% of cases).
  • Problem-Solving: Assist in troubleshooting inventory/shipping issues, expediting backorders, and managing quotes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process enhancements with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness. Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and client challenges in renewables.



Competencies

  • High School Diploma required. Associates or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Inside or Outside sales experience in the Wind or Renewable Energy Industry is ideal.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office is a must.
