Description Water Resources Engineering Team Leader Halff has an immediate opening for an experienced Professional Civil Engineer, with a Texas PE License, to fulfill the role of a Team Leader specializing in Water Resources. This is a strategic leadership position to expand our water resources practice in Texas. Their responsibilities encompass project management, team supervision, client advocacy, technical expertise, and quality assurance. The Team Leader is the key point of contact for our clients, working closely with them to understand their needs, provide expert guidance, and ensure their utmost satisfaction. The Team Leader's technical proficiency and leadership will drive their team to overcome complex challenges and produce innovative solutions. Moreover, the Team Leader will be responsible for maintaining project budgets, allocating resources efficiently, and identifying strategies to enhance project profitability. What will you do: Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes. Oversees and manages multiple Water Resources projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with client specifications and industry standards. Leads and mentors a team of professionals, technicians, and support staff, providing guidance, feedback, and support to foster professional growth and development. Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, serving as the primary point of contact, understanding their needs, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. Provides technical leadership and expertise in design, analysis, and problem-solving, assisting team members in resolving complex technical challenges. Ensures that all deliverables meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations. Monitors project budgets, allocate resources effectively, and identify opportunities to optimize project efficiency and profitability. Identifies potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize any adverse impacts on project outcomes. What you will need: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil EngineeringorABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree Must have a minimum 10 years of experience in Water Resources project delivery Professional Engineering (PE) License in the state of Texas Technical experience with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and 2D Modeling software packages (ICM, XP-SWMM, etc.) Requires technical experience and/or familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, water resources planning, and design for private and public stormwater infrastructure Proficient in project management, administration, and supervision of technical staff Proven track record of successfully leading projects from inception to completion Robust written and verbal communication skills Proven business development experience Positive attitude, self-directed yet a team player, with a focus on quality, integrity and success Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds Must be able to travel to various project sites Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas Halff's Water Resources Services: Flood Control Planning and Design Floodplain Management, Studies and Mapping Coastal Engineering and Planning Stream Restoration Planning and Design Stormwater Planning, Criteria and Regulation Training Development and Delivery Water Quality Planning and Design Company Overview: Halff is a full-service infrastructure consulting firm planned, designed, engineered, constructed - and purposed - for people.
