POSITION SUMMARY Senior Network Engineer plays a critical role within a small team of IT professionals, managing and maintaining the network infrastructure of the UC Washington Center. This 11-story mixed-use facility in Washington, D.C. houses students, faculty, and various UC offices, including the Office of Federal Governmental Relations (FGR). The engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of the existing network, promptly resolving any disruptions, and extending or upgrading the infrastructure as needed. This role may involve working outside normal business hours and occasionally requires travel. This position is located in Washington, DC. Responsibilities 40% Network and Security Management: Lead the planning, design, development, and implementation of network and security systems. Provide user support, training, and system maintenance, and ensure quality assurance for all network systems. Collaborate with IT and business partners to define, document, and implement new systems and functionalities. Configure and manage enterprise-level network and security protocols. Analyze and improve current workflows and system integration to enhance performance. Lead application testing and recommend processes to optimize network designs and new developments. And conduct interviews with users to interpret and document their current state environments.
