Because while we may not be at a patient's bedside, their health is still in our hands. Spacelabs Healthcare is seeking a Network Design Engineer to join its team. This position provides implementation and delivery support for the customer installation of the Spacelabs product. This person will consult with the customer to identify the impact of the Spacelabs system on their network and design the patient monitoring network specific to the customer's needs. The position will also assist in advanced-level troubleshooting of network-related customer issues, special projects, and product development. Key success indicators are the generation of revenue through superior IT service and the enhancement of the perception of Spacelabs Healthcare, particularly with the hospital's IT department. **This is a hybrid position requiring employees to work 3 days/ week at our headquarters in Snoqualmie, WA***
Responsibilities
- Complete Network Impact Analysis and Design Reviews - A formalized process for customer projects that includes network consulting, network evaluation, and network commissioning.
- Network Implementation and Troubleshooting - Provide expert-level network assistance and support for network troubleshooting on Spacelabs-installed and customer-installed network equipment to support the Spacelabs suite of products.
- Provide design, configuration, and troubleshooting of network solutions utilized for Spacelabs patient monitoring.
- When confronted with unfamiliar products or technologies at customer sites or otherwise, self-initiate research and learning. Always be open to learning something new.
- Relentlessly pursue value-driven standardization of work practices.
- Assist in the resolution of customer issues by providing expert-level (tier three) support for networking issues and providing expert customer-site support, if necessary.
- Collaborate with Research & Development (R&D), Product Support, and other stakeholders to solve complex problems.
- Demonstrate an outstanding ability to work under pressure and prioritize job tasks while working remotely. Provide regular updates, as needed, to stakeholders and management.
- Demonstrate tremendous empathy to customers and coworkers alike. Utilize an appropriate level of tact when providing customer support.
- Practice an effective use of work/life balance.
- Enhance Sales efforts by supporting the Sales process, including occasional pre-sales site assessments. Collaborate with the Spacelabs Technology Manager (pre-sales technical) team.
- Enhance R&D efforts by providing technical support and expertise, on an as-needed basis.
- Work independently on technical projects with little direction. Effectively manage multiple priorities, keeping customer projects on time and on budget.
- Drive efficient revenue collection through timely invoicing and accurate quoting practices.
- Ensure good stewardship of company resources.
- Provide an exemplary customer experience to external and internal customers.

Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Cisco CCNA/JNCIA or equivalent required.
- 5+ years of experience implementing wired and wireless network technology, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- 5+ years of experience with LAN/WAN concepts and technology, including L2/L3 Switches, VLANs, STP, and Data Center design.
- 5+ years of experience with WAN routing concepts.
- 5+ years of experience with network management tools and concepts.
- 2+ years' experience in a medical device or healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco or Juniper networking platforms required.
- Experience with wireless networking, including WLCs, AP placement, RF surveys, and WLAN / SSID configurations.
- Experience building network diagrams using Microsoft Visio or similar.
- Experience in the deployment of multicast routing in large-scale network environments is a plus.
- Deep understanding of routing protocols, including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP preferred.
- Experience working with multiple WAN technologies, including dedicated circuits, MPLS, SD-WAN, etc. preferred.
- Significant skill in network problem resolution with notable success in troubleshooting large-scale networks in a time-sensitive manner. Must understand how to troubleshoot networks effectively in a production environment while minimizing the impact on users.
- Must have a good understanding of cybersecurity principles in a HIPAA-compliant environment.
- Must have excellent verbal, written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills. This is a customer-facing role.
- Must have a track record of working positively and productively in a team environment. Must be highly collaborative.
- Must be able to work in a time-critical environment and be decisive when faced with complex problems.
- VMware or other virtualization experience is a plus.
- Experience managing firewalls (Palo Alto Networks, etc.) is a plus.
- Knowledge of UNIX/Linux-based network management tools is a plus.
OTHER WORK REQUIREMENTS:
- Must successfully complete onsite Spacelabs training (including training at Spacelabs locations).
- Must maintain Network and other IT certifications, as appropriate.
- Travel to customer sites, conferences, and technical training, as required (< 20% anticipated).
- Occasionally work various shifts, as deemed necessary to support customer requirements for installation, training, and troubleshooting.
- May be required to register with a vendor credentialing service. As part of this process, you may be required to submit personal information to a credentialing service company, to provide proof of vaccinations or related medical information, and to comply with other requirements needed to be able to work at customer healthcare facilities.
