Spencer Materials Our Plant Engineers oversee key aspects of cost management, production efficiency, and engineering processes within Spencer Materials' processing facilities. This role ensures operational effectiveness while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies. Key Responsibilities
- Production Oversight: Monitor and calculate production quantities to support accurate cost-to-produce evaluations. Communicate results to management to aid in decision-making.
- Compliance: Collaborate with the Environmental Department to prepare, implement, and test Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and hazardous materials management plans, ensuring full regulatory compliance.
- Process Improvement: Lead operational studies and recommend process modifications to enhance efficiency and production performance.
- Safety: Participate in safety audits, inspections, and meetings to maintain a safe working environment.
- Improvement: Ensure cost-effective, reliable operations. Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving measures.
- Inventory Management: Oversee spare parts inventories to ensure efficient repairs and minimize downtime. Conduct semi-annual inventory reconciliations to track materials and supplies accurately.
- Team Support: Assist plant managers, foremen, and superintendents to ensure the overall success of plant operations.
Qualifications Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
Experience
- 1-3 years of experience in construction, materials processing, or a similar field.
Skills & Knowledge
- General knowledge of materials processing operations.
- Familiarity with concrete, soil treatment, and crushing plants is preferred.
- Understanding of mechanical systems, plant operations, and equipment requirements.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with regulatory agencies and represent Spencer Materials in both public and professional settings.
- Proficiency in conveying complex information clearly to management and plant teams.
Physical Demands
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands to operate computers or equipment controls.
- Occasional lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.
Additional Requirements
- Adhere to all corporate safety initiatives and Spencer Materials safety policies.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to operate a company vehicle as needed.
