You Are: We are seeking a dedicated EV Technician to join our engineering validation team in San Jose. The technician will work onsite in a lab environment during night shifts, supporting electrical validation (EV) testing activities. This position requires hands-on experience with test setup, instrumentation, system bring-up and debugging to ensure hardware and firmware platforms meet defined specifications. The Opportunity: * Perform validation and testing of hardware systems and subcomponents per defined procedures. * Set up and configure test benches, power supplies, oscilloscopes, analyzers, and other measurement equipment. * Support execution of electrical validation (EV) test cases for power, signal integrity, and interface compliance. * Handle system bring-up, BIOS flashing, and driver installation as required for testing. * Execute test scripts and collect measurement data using automation tools or manual methods. * Perform data logging, analysis, and initial triage of test failures. * Maintain test records, calibration logs, and daily activity reports. * Ensure adherence to lab safety, ESD, and operational standards during all validation tasks. * Support hardware handling activities such as board swaps, cable management, and equipment setup. * Coordinate with engineers during test execution and debug to identify potential issues. * Work independently during night shifts to ensure smooth continuation of validation tasks. This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required. What You Need: * 2-5 years of hands-on experience in hardware or electrical validation labs. * Strong understanding of system bring-up, electrical test measurements, and data logging. * Familiarity with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and power analyzers. * Experience working with BIOS, firmware flashing tools, and system configuration utilities. * Basic knowledge of Python or automation scripting for data capture and analysis (preferred). * Understanding of validation processes, instrumentation setup, and test procedure execution. * Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities. * Excellent communication, attention to detail, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. * Flexibility to work night shifts and support weekend activities as required. Work Environment: * This is a full-time onsite role in a lab environment at the client's facility in San Jose, California. * The position requires working the night shift (Monday-Friday) with occasional weekend coverage based on project needs. * Role involves standing for extended periods, handling test equipment, and following strict safety and ESD protocols. Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below. Role Location: California Compensation Range: $45,000-$68,000 Benefits Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico. Part-time employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) program with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance. Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year). All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
