Position Summary

The Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico is looking for an outstanding communicator with strong organizational and interpersonal skills to join our growing team as a Senior Student Success Specialist for Graduate Programs. Reporting directly to the Manager of Student Success, this position will provide assistance to attract, retain, and serve our unique student population. The expectation will be that 75% of time will be devoted to EMBA activities with the remaining 25% allocated to other advisement activities for other graduate programs.

Anderson is a world-class business school with award winning faculty and programs, offering a wide array of degree programs for a diverse student population. At Anderson, you will be joining a distinguished organization with a rich history of delivering top-tier business education to students and a staff team who work hard daily to create a rich environment where we can thrive while delivering outstanding results and service to our internal and external customers.

The successful candidate will support Anderson's goals to serve and increase our EMBA student population and will have a proven track record of producing high-quality results, successfully maintaining progress across multiple projects and deadlines, working efficiently with minimal supervision, and adapting to changing priorities. Specific duties will include:

  1. Working at the direction of the Student Success Manager, and in coordination with other internal stakeholders, including the EMBA Faculty Lead, to attract, retain, and serve students of the EMBA.
  2. Providing guidance and advisement to EMBA students, understanding the unique requirements of this student population.
  3. Assisting potential EMBA students in the recruitment pipeline who may need help eliminating barriers to final enrollment.
  4. Assisting EMBA students with scholarship distribution, tuition calculation, and VA benefit coordination.
  5. Partnering with academic advisement personnel with registration and enrollment activities for EMBA and other assigned graduate program students.
  6. Coordinating the orientation events for the EMBA program, each summer, for the new, incoming EMBA cohort.
  7. Participating with other members of the Graduate Program EMBA team, and other Anderson staff and EMBA faculty, as appropriate, in events specifically for EMBA students and alumni. Assist in the planning of such events.
  8. Participating with the other members of the Graduate Program teams in graduate program events and activities, when appropriate.
  9. Providing academic advisement to a subset of general graduate programs, outside of the EMBA.

Because of Anderson's unique student populations, our Senior Student Success Specialist must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends and must be able to attend recruitment and other student-oriented events on and off campus.
