Overview
We are looking for a Demand Planner for our Global retail client. You'll join a team of experts revolutionizing how product gets to market. Your insights will directly impact the availability of iconic products, ensuring consumers find what they want, when they want it. As a Demand Planner, you will play a pivotal role in creating and managing bottom-up merchandise plans, collaborating with various teams to ensure profitability, productivity, and consumer satisfaction. Your expertise in forecasting and inventory management will be essential to optimizing product availability and driving business success. Responsibilities:
- Develop seasonal merchandise plans and monthly forecasts that incorporate sales, margin, and inventory projections at the style/color level.
- Collaborate with Consumer Fields of Play Assortment Planners, Merch Financial Planning, Marketplace, and Finance teams to align on financial goals and inform manufacturing decisions.
- Create and manage a seasonal buy plan that aligns with retail sales, inventory targets, and market expectations, including door, flow, and size-level details.
- Partner with global and regional stakeholders to optimize business performance throughout the product lifecycle.
- Conduct weekly and monthly analysis of business performance against forecasts, identifying risks, opportunities, and action plans.
- Manage in-season sales and inventory forecasting, leveraging data analysis and insights to optimize product availability.
- Support monthly and seasonal inventory planning and management activities.
- Collaborate with marketplace teams to manage product close-outs and aging inventory, maximizing consumer demand and achieving marketplace objectives.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of directly relevant work experience in demand planning, inventory management, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
- Proven experience in assortment planning and a strong understanding of financial, product, and inventory planning principles.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage statistical forecasting, data science, and innovative approaches to improve planning and decision-making.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights compellingly.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills, including the ability to develop accurate plans that balance trade-offs and optimize outcomes.
- Current knowledge of consumer and marketplace trends.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Experience with statistical forecasting software and tools.
- Advanced knowledge of supply chain management principles.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $40.00 to $45.00 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors, including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location. #LI-AJ1
