The Digital Workplace Services Engineer is responsible for the engineering, maintenance, and secure operation of ATI's Digital Workplace technologies. This position ensures reliability, performance, and compliance across collaboration platforms including Microsoft 365, Exchange, Teams, and Active Directory.
In addition to technical ownership of the Digital Workplace environment, this role will also serve as the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) for the Margate site, providing oversight of local cybersecurity and compliance activities in coordination with ATI's enterprise security and compliance teams. This position is critical to maintaining the security posture and reliability of ATI's enterprise collaboration platforms and requires an active or obtainable DoD Secret Clearance due to work within regulated and defense-related environments. This is an onsite position. Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft 365, Exchange, Active Directory, and Azure Active Directory environments to ensure secure and reliable operations.
- Manage and optimize Microsoft Teams, Exchange, MFA, DNS/DHCP, SSO, and Azure tenant configurations.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation to streamline administration and improve performance.
- Support infrastructure management, configuration, and optimization to ensure systems remain secure, scalable, and compliant.
- Collaborate with enterprise security and compliance teams to align systems with DoD, NIST, DFARS, and CMMC cybersecurity standards.
- Participate in audits and system reviews to support enterprise compliance initiatives.
- Respond to and resolve technical incidents, outages, and cybersecurity events affecting Digital Workplace systems.
- Maintain accurate and current system documentation, configuration baselines, and operational procedures.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance stability, security, and user experience across the Digital Workplace ecosystem.
Additional Responsibilities - Site ISSM (Information Systems Security Manager):
- While the primary focus of this role is Digital Workplace engineering, the individual will also serve as the local ISSM for the Margate facility, responsible for implementing and maintaining cybersecurity compliance within the site's information systems.
- Acting as the site-level cybersecurity authority, ensuring local systems comply with DoD, NIST SP 800-171, and CMMC 2.0 requirements.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of System Security Plans (SSP) and Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M) for covered systems.
- Coordinating vulnerability management, audit readiness, and continuous monitoring activities with ATI's enterprise cybersecurity team.
- Assisting in authorization and accreditation (A&A) processes and ensuring system documentation aligns with Risk Management Framework (RMF) standards.
- Providing local security awareness and compliance guidance to technical staff and users.
- Serving as the primary point of contact during security inspections, incident investigations, and compliance audits related to Margate's systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or Digital Workplace technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Azure AD, Microsoft Exchange (hybrid or online), and Microsoft Teams.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and certificate management.
- Familiarity with DFARS, NIST SP 800-171, and CMMC compliance frameworks preferred.
- Experience supporting Microsoft GCC High or other secure cloud environments is a plus.
- Prior experience in a cybersecurity or ISSM/ISSO capacity is desirable, though not the primary function of this position.
- Must possess or be eligible to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance. US Citizenship is required for this position due to government contract requirements.
