Essential Functions: Set-up and maintain Wire EDM Lay block in machine with print as guide Indicate straightness, flatness etc... with magnetic head Plot and test run program for accuracy and according to print spec. Run machine and maintain sufficient wire and load wire spools Perform quality checks Drop slugs or remove waste material from EDM processes Remove block by hand and clean with solvents and air gun. Programming for Wire EDM Coordinate incoming projects and repairs with tooling department staff Program tool paths Establish and meet project time lines. Supervision Received and Given: Reports to the Tooling Manager Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Experience/Knowledge/Skills: 3 years' experience as an EDM programmer and operator. Strong time management skills Able to work independently Journeyman Card as a toolmaker would be a plus (not required)
