Production Team leader

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the order book for chain and belt assembly (Identified as AO's, Assembly Orders)
  • Directs the line leaders and schedules all AOs for each line both in chain and in belt.
  • Trains, coaches, and support the line leaders to ensure each line is properly equipped to complete daily orders.
  • Evaluates the efficiency of employees and makes suggestions for permanent hire.
  • Manages payroll and approves times for all assembly employees.
  • Performs any other tasks required to ensure the department's goals are met as directed by management.
  • Lead, direct, and mentor a team of production personnel, ensuring seamless operations and high-quality output.
  • Uphold stringent safety standards as well as identify and address potential safety concerns promptly.
  • Communicate and enforce production expectations, steering the department to meet daily objectives efficiently.
  • Train and guide employees on work methods, machinery operation, and job-specific processes.
  • Manage paperwork responsibilities including production reports, inventory records, and other documentation as needed for operational efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of excellence by identifying and cultivating positive work habits while addressing negative behaviors.
  • Collaborate with multiple levels of operations to optimize workflow, resource allocation, and process improvements.
  • Champion company initiatives and objectives, reinforcing a positive work culture.
  • Accurately input production data using computer systems.
  • Ensures all safety procedures are followed and actively works to improve our safety program.
  • Ensures all quality procedures are followed and actively works to improve our quality program.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Opportunity to be selected for the role of ISO Internal Auditor, with responsibilities including conducting internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO standards and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Must demonstrate awareness of ISO standards and actively participate in Integrated Management System (IMS) audits to support compliance and improvement efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience in manufacturing environment.
  • At least three years of manufacturing experience; Working in assembly, manufacturing and production experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven track record in a team-based work environment, exhibiting excellent attendance habits.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work well in a team atmosphere.
  • Experience or proven ability to manage up to 50 employees and some direct reports.

Education:

  • HS Diploma
  • Continuing education via various training seminars and/or college credits

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

Direct Reports

  • Belt Department Line Leaders and Chain Department Team Leader report directly to the Assembly Supervisor
