Job Description:

As a Sales Tax Technology Senior Associate at Crowe LLP, you'll support the design and implementation of sales and use tax (SUT) and value-added tax (VAT) automation systems. This hands-on role involves working with clients and internal teams to document requirements, configure tax platforms, test system integrations, and support end-user training.

You'll gain exposure to leading ERP and e-Commerce systems such as Microsoft D365, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Acumatica, Shopify, and Stripe, while developing deep expertise in tax engines like Avalara, Vertex, and ONESOURCE. This role is ideal for professionals eager to combine tax knowledge with technology and grow toward future leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support configuration, deployment, and testing of tax automation software (Avalara, Vertex, and ONESOURCE)
  • Assist in integrating tax platforms with client ERP systems including Microsoft D365, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Acumatica, Shopify, and Stripe
  • Help gather and document client business requirements related to indirect tax automation
  • Prepare and deliver training presentations on indirect tax technology for internal and external audiences
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving system errors or configuration issues
  • Collaborate with managers and cross-functional teams (Tax, IT, Sales, Master Data, Procurement)
  • Support preparation of technical documentation, test scripts, and project deliverables
  • Contribute to client meetings, sales support, and proposal development discussions
  • Begin mentoring and onboarding of junior staff
  • Assist with project billing, administrative tracking, and engagement setup

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Finance, or related discipline
  • CPA, CMI, or progress toward certification preferred
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in tax technology, indirect tax, or ERP system implementation
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major tax automation system and exposure to multiple ERP environments
  • Familiarity with technology tools like Alteryx, Power BI, and AI
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of working directly with clients and vendors

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Crowe, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $72,000.00 - $162,000.00 per year.
