SummaryWe are looking for a hands-on, self-motivated individual who is passionate about delivering quality results by developing and implementing creative solutions to problems. As part of a Research and Development team tasked with creating and developing new X-ray tube products, technologies and manufacturing methods/equipment, this role requires quick and creative thinking and a willingness to problem-solve as an individual and with a team, sometimes without prior work/art to consult for guidance. This role supports engineering activities such as design, test, troubleshooting, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro/mechanical systems, experimental design hardware & circuitry, or specialized test equipment. Applications may include electronic circuits, logic systems, and mechanical constructions. This position/role works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions. Position also requires the use of manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators, ohm meters, calipers, and other specialized test apparatus. This engineering technician role includes the need for the following skills (not all are required, but are listed in order of importance to the role):

1. Control panel electrical layout and construction

2. Electrical wiring and cable construction & testing

3. Ability to read electrical schematics

4. Ability to create electrical schematics

5. Ability to read and follow mechanical assembly instructions/schematics

6. Ability to create mechanical schematics

7. PLC ladder logic programming experience

8. Ability to document assembly instructions for production assembly operators

9. Electrical CAD experience

10. TIG Welding & Soldering experience

11. Motors and VFD selection and programming experience

12. Standard assembly/construction tool usage (drills, torque wrenches, etc.)

Experience Level with Business Tools

  • Familiar with business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.

Skillset:

Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks. In addition, as stated in the job description, this engineering technician role includes the need for the following skills (not all are required, but are listed in order of importance to the role):

Education and Experience

  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • 2+ years of related experience

Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation.

  • Work environments includes: exposure to chemicals, electrical current, proximity to moving mechanical parts, repetitive hand motion, open flame, working from heights, uneven surface.
