Machine Shop Operator Responsibilities: - Perform variety of tasks associated with the manufacturing of parts such as stamping, hobbing, assembly, packaging, painting, drilling reaming, tapping milling, countersink deburring and cutting using a wide variety of machine shop equipment - Process routing operations following standardized methods rates and processes - Present parts for specified inspection and to inspect parts with measuring tools to ensure integrity and quality of parts. - Meet and exceed productivity and accuracy goals - Provide reliable solutions to moderately complex problems - Identify, research and resolve basic and/or moderately complex issues - Offer suggestions to improve processes and/or systems - Work collaboratively team members to achieve balanced scorecard objectives Requirements for Machine Shop Operator: - High School Diploma or GED OR one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos - Ability to write simple correspondence - Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization - Team oriented and positive attitude with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with others - Ability to read, comprehend, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations - Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals - Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public - Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's - Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions - Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables - Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds - Ability to stand for duration of shift gurnee@qpsemployment.com IND019 QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
