What is the Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP)?

Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP): is an incentive program that typically vests over a three-year period and is tied to both individual performance and the operational success of Texas Oncology. Awards are discretionary and based on your position, performance, and potential for future career growth at Texas Oncology. Awards are reviewed and approved during the annual compensation review. LTIP awards are subject to your continued employment through the award payment date, and are governed by the written terms and conditions of the LTIP document.

What does the Manager, Business Office do? (Including but not limited to)

Responsible for managing the functions of the business office, including patient billing and reimbursement, computer operations, and collections; ensures optimum reimbursement for medical services through accurate and timely reporting of all physician and ancillary services; is responsible for timely submission of all insurance claims and adjustments; directly supervises accounts receivable; generates monthly reports and ensures their accuracy; solves problems and improves efficiency to ensure the lowest possible accounts receivable. Supervises and oversees front office functions. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Directs the daily operation of the business office to ensure accuracy and timeliness in all areas of responsibility including the handling of monies.
-Recruits, hires and supervises front office staff in addition to developing and attaining performance goals and objectives. Evaluates performance and recommends merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
-Oversees the pick up and preparation of daily charge tickets; works with physicians on charge procedures, including consistent use of procedure codes; coordinates revisions as needed to obtain correct reimbursement; identifies and resolves discrepancies.
-Ensures that daily, weekly, and monthly billing functions are performed and accurate.
-Demonstrates thorough understanding of and oversees all aspects of coding functions, to include monitoring and interpreting insurance reimbursements and implementing procedures that ensure optimum reimbursement and compliance with regulations.
-Negotiates managed care, PPO, and indemnity plan contracts.
-Schedules month-end cutoffs; ensures that all areas meet cutoff and generates monthly management reports from medical accounts and receivable system.
-Monitors aged balances of all accounts and ensures that delinquent accounts are followed up.
-Provides follow-up on contract accounts and acts as liaison with managed care plans and insurers.
-Prepares monthly financial analysis on accounts receivable, collection percentages, billing statistics, etc.
-Acts as liaison between physicians, administration and business departments.
-Implements Reimbursement Policies and Procedures to maximize efficiency. Ensures compliance with appropriate industry regulations.
-Maintains computer master parameters including CPT-4 and ICD-9 code files.
-Assists with budgetary activities under direction of Executive Director and Controller. Maintains and monitors departmental budget.
-Recruits, hires and supervises business office staff; assists with developing and attaining performance goals and objectives. Evaluates performance and recommends merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
-Maintains working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to assigned responsibilities.
-Maintains confidentially of all information related to patients, medical staff, finances and cost effective health care delivery issues. Directly supervises business office personnel.


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Minimum seven years of medical office management experience.
