Position Summary: The Senior Financial Systems Analyst is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing all financial systems and tools to support the organization's accounting and reporting needs. This role acts as a bridge between Finance and IS, ensuring system solutions align with business goals and comply with regulatory standards. The analyst leads system upgrades, implementations, integrations, and provides advanced support to finance users. The salary range for this position is $98,000-$144,000 USD. - SAP Month End Financial Close Activities: Manage and coordinate the monthly financial system close processes. This includes all quarter-end or year responsibilities with financial systems group or support with our Shared Service functional areas.
- Provide implementation and application technical/functional support in the SAP FI-CO module focused on the core finance component. This includes, but not limited to: Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger Accounting, Fixed Assets, Cost Center Accounting.
- Maintain SAP tables and processes that support the automation of Financial Reporting insuring adherence to guidelines.
- Manage access to Financial Systems for Finance and other users, providing training on modules or databases.
- Generation and troubleshooting of assigned daily & monthly financial processing jobs. Manage SAP Security Roles for Record to Report through our SAP Attestation Review Cycles.
- Provide information retrieval for external and internal audits and other data requests including validation of data for assigned systems that may cover SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SAP, SAP CO-PA, SAP PM, SAP Hana/ECCS, and other systems.
- Ensuring data integrity throughout our financial systems (SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SAP, SAP Customer Profitability (CO-PA) and creating report templates for customer needs.
- Administer & update our Standard Operating Procedure approval cycles done bi-annually with our Shared Service Center via MS Power-Automate.
- Compile, analyze and revise a variety of financial data; review financial data to identify errors and discrepancies; investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve errors and discrepancies; resolve incorrect data with staff as needed; interpret, analyze, and communicate financial data to system users.
- Administration of Financial Master Data and complex database structures for all financial systems, mostly in SAP.
- Integrate and Support our Off-Shore Team and Key Stakeholders on all finance processes & systems.
- Apply best practice approaches to all aspects of solution implementation & Liaise with Finance technical resources to assist in delivery of the technical solutions that are related to FICO products.
- Design and develop reports, dashboards, and tools for financial analysis and decision-making.
- Oversee testing, change management, and documentation related to system enhancements and upgrades.
- Creates management, project status, and ad-hoc reports and leads meetings to provide strategic vision for any technical concerns. Create detailed design documents that meet Messer and BPO business, operational and IS security requirements.
- Has ownership of complex master data objects in ERP system. Plays an active role in system development of SAP or other systems that interface with the General Ledger
- Analyze and interpret complex business and functional requirements, translate to technical requirements. Analyze existing systems and understand system constraints to recommend technical solutions that meet Messer business requirements.
- Ensure established deadlines are met while reinforcing the achievement of quality standards and following Messer software development methodology.
Required Skills & Experience
- Record to Report Functional (Finance, Accounting) Technical (SAP R/3/HANA)
- Should have strong analytical, technical design, programming, and SAP maintenance (trouble shooting, debugging skills). SAP experience should include FI modules and the CO modules (e.g., CO-PA), as well as experience with other SAP modules/integration points (configuration)
- Knowledge of General Accounting Processes and their impact and integration with the business within the Record to Report function.
- Excellent computer skills - MS O365, including advanced Excel skills, Visio, and Access, Power-Automate, MS Teams, and SharePoint; Visual Basic; MSSQL Server; and Project Management Tools (MS Project; MS Planner; Smartsheet)
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly understand and confirm user needs and troubleshooting problems effectively.
- Ability to adapt quickly to our demanding environment and be an efficient quick learner.
- Work independently and manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Basic Qualifications
- BS/BA in Accounting or Finance or related field; advanced degree a plus.
- 7-10 years working in Finance/IT areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- IT Financial Systems Management & Reporting Experience preferred.
- 5 years or more of experience with SAP ERP preferred.
- Prior experience working in a financial environment with 3rd party BPO provider is a plus.
- Should have excellent analytical, technical design, and SAP maintenance experience. (SAP experience should include the Finance modules and the Controlling modules).
- Prior experience working in a financial environment with 3rd party BPO provider is a plus.
- Proven project management skills particularly systems implementation as functional user preferred.
