Temple University's College of Public Health is searching for an EMS Director!

SALARY RANGE: $90,000 to $110,000

Position Summary:
The EMS Director is responsible for overseeing the operations, strategic planning, and continued development of the College of Public Health's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Education Institute, ensuring effective management and advancement of all programs and initiatives. The Director will lead, supervise, manage and implement all aspects of the EMS program, including in-person and online continuing education development and instruction, curriculum development, marketing, recruitment and advising of students, budgeting, instructor supervision and support and revision/modification of all program components as needed and/or required. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
*Bachelor's Degree
*Must possess a current EMT-Paramedic, Registered Nurse or Physician certification and/or hold all credentials for which students are being prepared in the program.
*Required to maintain a current PA EMS Instructor certification and all applicable AHA instructor certifications for all courses offered.
*Professional license(s) must be free from history of revocation, denial or suspension.
*Minimum of three (3) years practicing in the pre-hospital environment or equivalent.
*Minimum of two (2) years of EMS educational administration experience.
*Knowledge of current National EMS Scope of Practice and National EMS Education Standards and evidenced-informed clinical practice.
*Knowledge of current PA Department of Health ALS and BLS Protocols.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Education and Experience:
*Master's degree
*Proficiency in instructional methods, testing and evaluation of students

Required Skills and Abilities:
*Knowledge of and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes.
*Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a wide range of faculty, staff and student populations.
*Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
*Experience in reconciliation management and reporting.
*Demonstrated understanding of budget management.
*Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports
*Ability to work in a collaborative environment and meet established deadlines; ability to work independently as well as within a team structure.
*Strong organization and time management skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks.
*Experience managing confidential and sensitive data.

Essential duties:
*Direct, manage and implement the overall operation of the EMS program, including the EMS lab in the simulation center.
*Recruit, develop, supervise and evaluate program instructors and ensure adequate staffing for program courses.
*Establish annual institutional goals for the program, including curriculum development, implementation and assessment.
*Oversee community outreach and community education efforts.
*Lead all external program accreditation efforts, including self-studies, site visits and reporting.
*Maintain accreditation with PA DOH, and seek accreditation with CoAEMSP, and CAAHEP.
*Coordinate with clinical sites for student placement, orientation and communication.
*Act as liaison between instructors, sponsoring agencies, students, the local medical community and the State's Division of Emergency Medical Services, including continually evaluating and monitoring program progress and objectives as they relate to the program's licensing, registering and certifying agencies.
*Foster industry relationships to promote and market the program and to recruit instructors and clinical sites.
*Coordinate with the external advisory committee.
*Manage student concerns and coordinate responses.
*Oversee facilities and equipment use for all EMS courses.
*Maintain department budget and inventory.
*Recommend and coordinate equipment purchases.
*Provide guidance for prospective and current EMS students.

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
