Description

Are you hardworking, passionate and customer service oriented? Do you love working in an educational environment that is fun and fast paced, creating delicious coffee and espresso-based beverages?

Clark College is currently accepting applications for a part-time Retail Clerk 1 to work in our busy retail bakery. This position is responsible for delivering excellent customer service to our college campus and community, making consistently great coffee and espresso based beverages, merchandising our student made products, keeping the bakery clean, organized and well stocked, while also working with the highest level of food safety. Hours are Monday-Friday, approximately 5-10 hours/week.

Position Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Deliver excellent customer service, every time for every customer.
  • Make consistently high-quality beverages using MCI recipes and procedures.
  • Merchandise product displays.
  • Ordering and inventory.
  • Able to maintain a positive and supportive work environment and optimistic problem-solving skills.
  • Work with the Manager to communicate information, challenges and needs to the Professional Baking Program.
  • Proficiency on Point of Sales system and adherence to proper cash handling procedures and standards with a high level of accuracy.
  • Able to maintain a clean, orderly and well stocked environment, including balancing all side work within a scheduled shift.
  • Understand and enforce MCI food safety policies.
  • Act as a steward of college resources.
  • Able to stand for 4-6 hours.
  • Able to climb a ladder, crouch and kneel.
  • Able to consume caffeine, dairy/alternatives, and gluten.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid State of Washington Food Handlers Card.
