Description

Responsibilities:



  • Work with sales, engineering, and client to understand their fountain, aquatic playground and water park control requirements and standards
  • Design new systems, upgrade and add-on to existing systems
  • Develop P&ID drawings and instrumentation specifications
  • Develop hardware design and control I/O drawings
  • Design PLC and HMI based systems
  • Develop detailed functional specification document for programming purposes
  • Develop system configuration and interface design document
  • Prepare testing procedures and functional acceptance test documents
  • Experience and expertise to install and commission a broad array of OEM equipment and systems to bring together a fully integrated system.
  • Range of skills that translates well into the component and system level upgrades of older systems required to maintain a competitive edge in today's market.
  • Proficient with PLC ladder logic programming using Rockwell Automation, Automation Direct, and Siemens.
  • Proficient in implementing HMI software from Rockwell Automation, Automation Direct, and Delta as primary components of supervisory control and information systems.
  • Data logging and Alarm management systems
  • SMS alert system from the unmanned control systems
  • Serial (RS-485) and Ethernet network design
  • Familiarity with design and implementation of Ethernet IP, Device Net, and Modbus networks
  • Familiarity with design and implementation DMX/RDM, ArtNet, MA-Net, and sACN networks for Show Control
  • Establish bidirectional communication across multiple networks and hardware platforms
  • On-site startup and commissioning services for OEM equipment
  • Site acceptance test development for new and/or reconditioned equipment
  • Perform complete audit of control systems
  • Suggest areas to add automation to reduce maintenance requirements and improve productivity
  • Provide modifications/improvements needed to reduce equipment downtime
  • Provide recommendations to make control systems robust
  • Other duties may be assigned by Manager and/or Supervisor.


Education and/or Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in electrical controls engineering from an accredited school preferred
  • Five to ten years' experience in controls engineering or related industry.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes related to electrical engineering, NEC, UL, and other code requirements
  • Proficient in design and programming software - AutoCAD, Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, Rockwell or similar
  • PLC and HMI experience programming ABB, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Automation Direct
  • Licensed as a professional engineer - nice to have
