Lead Quality Control Inspector - Manufacturing

Play an integral role in ensuring that every product we manufacture reflects our commitment to safety, precision, and excellence. As our Lead Quality Control Inspector - Manufacturing, you help shape the standard of quality our customers trust. You work closely with a team that values clarity, collaboration, and continuous improvement, and you guide others with the confidence that comes from deep technical expertise.

Purpose of the role

You will be responsible for leading and executing complex quality control inspections within an industrial manufacturing and fabrication environment. You apply sound judgment, follow established procedures, and help influence the direction of our quality program by providing insight, problem-solving, and strong technical guidance. You create alignment across teams, support efficient workflows, and ensure our products meet the highest expectations of safety, compliance, and performance.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced inspections, tests, and evaluations on components, equipment, and fabrication work to ensure adherence to specifications, drawings, and industry standards.
  • Apply independent judgment to plan, organize, and complete assignments within established policies, quality benchmarks, and contractual requirements.
  • Lead day-to-day quality activities, including providing guidance, instruction, and work direction to a small team of inspectors or draftspersons.
  • Review and analyze design elements, technical trends, and client requirements to identify risks or deviations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on quality-related issues, communicating complex information clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to inspection tools, systems, processes, or procedures, and support the development or refinement of improved quality practices.
  • Prepare clear, accurate inspection documentation and ensure all quality records are maintained in compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and project teams to resolve quality concerns and support efficient production and fabrication.
  • Support department-level administrative responsibilities as needed, including workflow coordination and reporting.

What you'll bring to the role

  • A technical school diploma or equivalent combination of education, training, and 7+ years of relevant experience in industrial manufacturing or fabrication environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading quality control inspections, with the ability to manage complex tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Proven ability to exercise sound independent judgment within established guidelines.
  • Advanced understanding of industry inspection tools, systems, processes, and data management platforms.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to mentor others and contribute positively to team culture.
  • Clear, confident communication skills, particularly when addressing complex or sensitive quality issues.
  • A commitment to accuracy, consistency, and continuous improvement.
