DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Accounting Assistant, your responsibilities will include utilizing Microsoft Dynamics to assist customers with their registered PATCH accounts by conducting account reconciliations and resolving any billing discrepancies. You will also have the important task of managing collections for delinquent registered accounts and processing credit card payments and checks for non-registered users. In addition, you will provide customer service through the PATCH Help Line and oversee the application process for organizations looking to become registered users of PATCH. These tasks require strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively communicate with customers.

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,685.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or
- An Associate Degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits of accounting.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Additional Requirements:
- You must have two years of data entry experience.
- You must have two years of customer service experience.
- Teleworking is not an option as part of this position's work schedule.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
- You must pass criminal history and background investigations if you do not have a current Pennsylvania State Police background on file.
