| Position Summary |
The Department of Orthopaedics at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill (
UNC) is seeking a full-time board certified/eligible academic orthopaedic sports surgeon to join its team. The ideal candidate will also have expertise/strong interest in shoulder, hip, elbow, and the knee including advanced cartilage restoration, osteotomies, and multi-ligament injuries of the knee. Arthroplasty of the knee would be a bonus. This position is at the flagship academic medical center of a statewide health care system that includes 13 hospitals and more than 5,000 affiliated providers.
The candidate will hold an academic appointment (open rank - commensurate with experience) and will be expected to teach orthopaedic residents/fellows and be actively engaged in scholarship and research. They will also be a part of the Orthopaedic team and a robust Primary Care Sports team that helps care for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill athletes and coverage of the athletic program. The orthopaedic surgeon will be engaged in the development of a robust academic program. They will participate in a clinical program that serves the academic medical center, community practices and the wider healthcare system that spans the state of North Carolina. They will provide the highest quality of patient care, while creating an academic environment that is positive and inclusive for faculty and learners. |
| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
This position requires a M.D. or D.O. Candidates must be board certified/board eligible and able to obtain licensure in the State of North Carolina.
Candidate will be fellowship-trained in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. |

Sports Medicine with a strong interest in complex knee conditions. |
