The Department of Health Informatics invites applications for a full-time, Non-Tenure Teaching Track, Assistant Professor position with a specialization in Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Deep Learning. We seek a dynamic educator and researcher who will contribute to the department's growing emphasis on cutting-edge AI technologies in healthcare, including the newly launched AI in Healthcare track in the MS in Health Informatics program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach graduate-level courses in Health Informatics, with a focus on AI, LLMs, and Deep Learning.
- Develop and maintain an active research agenda in generative AI applications in healthcare.
- Mentor graduate students and supervise doctoral research projects.
- Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to advance interdisciplinary research.
- Contribute to curriculum development, particularly in the AI in Healthcare track.
- Participate in Departmental, School, and University service.
- Participate in Annual Performance Evaluations and Workload Distribution discussions for the program.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and as permitted by workload requirements.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- PhD in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field
- Exceptional candidates with an MS in Computer Science and demonstrated expertise in generative AI will also be considered.
