Project Scheduler - Heavy Civil Mining Operations

We are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler with a strong background in heavy civil and mining operations. This role is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating all project and maintenance-related activities to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with operational and contractual requirements. The ideal candidate is a seasoned scheduler with exceptional analytical ability, deep industry knowledge, and strong communication skills.

What You Will Do
  • Lead planning, scheduling, workload analysis, and progress measurement for assigned departments in coordination with field supervisors and project teams.

  • Develop, manage, and update detailed project and maintenance schedules, ensuring accuracy, logic integrity, and alignment with field execution.

  • Maintain and protect the integrity of all data within scheduling and information management systems (SAP and Primavera P6).

  • Partner with supervisors to establish, monitor, and adjust planned schedules in accordance with Equipment Reliability Standards (ERS).

  • Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly planning meetings to review priorities, schedule work orders, and coordinate resources.

  • Execute and manage the Runtime Forecasting process for the assigned area.

  • Support supervisors with job preparation, field verification, equipment/material readiness, and post-execution reviews.

  • Develop baseline, short-interval, and long-range schedules including resource loading, materials forecasting, and sequencing for major shutdowns.

  • Maintain accurate job histories, costs, resource usage, and documentation within SAP.

  • Collaborate with Global Supply Chain regarding materials, warehouse levels, storage conditions, and procurement requirements.

  • Assist in developing scopes of work, coordinating contract execution, and interfacing with suppliers and vendors.

  • Support maintenance and project management decisions, including budget planning, forecasting, and major materials cost projections.

  • Produce regular and ad hoc scheduling, performance, and KPI reports for site leadership.

  • Perform additional duties as required to support project and operational success.

What You Bring
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in project scheduling, maintenance planning, or field operations within heavy civil construction, mining, manufacturing, or industrial environments.

  • Demonstrated experience using Primavera P6, SAP, and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Strong understanding of maintenance planning/scheduling workflows, mining or processing equipment, and civil construction sequences.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, equipment specifications, engineering drawings, and project plans.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with supervisors, engineers, supply chain, contractors, and field personnel.

  • Proven ability to analyze data, identify schedule impacts, forecast resource needs, and maintain accurate project controls.

  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Education/Experience (any of the following):

  • Bachelor's degree in heavy civil, mining, or related field of expertise.
