FUNCTION
Clinical Support is responsible for assisting healthcare professionals in providing a variety of direct and indirect patient care activities in collaboration with the patient, family, and other members of the care team.

SUB FUNCTION
Surgical Sterile Supply is responsible for assuring a safe and accurate supply of medical equipment and instruments to health care team members.

CAREER BAND
Individual Contributor - Technical - Work is primarily achieved through individual efforts or by participation on functional or project teams. May coordinate, influence, or review the work of others. May be the primary owner/authority on a given program or process. Performs work of technical (i.e. skilled trade), operational, or administrative nature. Work is performed within clearly established guidelines and procedures. Execution of work is dependent on guidance and decisions made by others. At Lead level may coordinate and review day-to-day work of others. Typically does not require a university degree but post secondary education or training may be useful or required.

CAREER LEVEL
Most advanced technical or operational experience; serves in lead or supervisory capacity of at least 1-2 resources or as specialist within discipline. May be fewer technical/operational positions available at this level. Advanced knowledge of processes and/or tools required in the team or department and beyond through on-the-job training and/or certification or vocational training. As specialist or lead, will train, advise, assign work or review work in the team department. Anticipates, recognizes and solves the most complex issues and questions that arise within the team, department, or with customers. Requires limited supervision and work may be accomplished without well defined procedures. Makes decisions that consider not only established options and procedures but also may set a new precedent (with supervisory support). Routinely interacts with members of immediate work team, other teams, and leaders. Effectively communicates matters of the highest importance. Uses diplomacy and tact to convey sensitive information; uses negotiation and persuasion to accomplish objectives.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be required. Associate degree in relevant field may be preferred. Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician certification (CSPDT) issued through The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) required upon hire or must obtain certification within 6 months of hire. 4 years of relevant experience required. 6 or more years of relevant experience preferred.
