The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The AP Senior Team Lead is responsible for the training of new and existing members of the AP team. They will be subject matter experts on AP functions including policies and PeopleSoft. Perform PeopleSoft system testing to support changes in operations. Act as a first point of contact for team members with questions.

They will coordination of vendor payments in accordance with policy and procedures. They will perform research, problem solve, take action and escalate to ensure the payment is made to the vendor within the appropriate timeframe. Interface with vendors and end-users explain and educate on policy compliance when necessary.

Independently balance workload and adhere to timelines, deadlines with a high degree of accuracy. Provide team coverage along with handling special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Five years accounts payable or finance experience.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Able to perform basic mathematical calculations, balance and reconcile figures, possess good communication (written and verbal) skills.

Preferred:

  • Associates degree with three years of accounts payable experience preferred
  • Strongly prefer experience with PeopleSoft or other ERP system and OCR programs

Essential Functions:

  • Trainer for department staff including new members and refreshers.
  • Demonstrates competencies in the Accounts Payable and Purchasing modules, policies and practices. Subject Matter Expert for AP and will answer staff questions and help vendors/end-user with problem resolution.
  • Processes all vouchers and payment requests in compliance with policies and guidelines
  • Manage and take action to ensure all invoice discounts are captured. Daily work the dashboard and engage with others to ensure invoices are ready for payment by the discount date. Track any lost discounts and summarize in a management report.
  • Informs management and end-users of delays of complications within the process.
  • Balances and maintain workload include providing support to teammates while adhering to departmental policies, procedures and position/department performance standards.
  • Able to perform the AP Specialist, Processor and AP Verifier roles, provides team coverage and special projects as needed
  • Lead point person audit support and information retrieval
  • Produces updates, emails, and other communication in a clear and effective manner. Establish and maintain rapport through effective communication and timely follow-up with customers, coworkers, management, and outside agencies/vendors.
  • Notify leadership of any unresolved issue and request assistance as necessary
  • Adhere to department performance standards and Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
