Sales Engineer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Review customer projects with input from: sales, customer, other media. Create concept tooling drawing utilizing, customer supplied mold and or part drawings, vendor Products and custom machined / designed components.
• Works from rough sketches, schematics, and verbal instructions. Supports company design standards. This position will require the ability to apply standard drafting techniques and knowledge of practical and fabrication problems.
• Use Inventor, Solid Works and sketches to create accurate drawings within the required timeframe.
• Organizes / maintains and updates project folders and drawings. Reviews own drawings for quality and accuracy.
• Log / file customer sample parts
• Obtains quotes and determines suppliers. Enter data and send purchase orders to suppliers. Contacts suppliers by mail, phone, email, or visit to verify shipment of goods on specified date.
• Arranges for distribution of materials upon arrival.
• Develop a solution, provide costing, and basic overview of project
• 3D presentations for sales
• Quality control or sign-off of assembled tooling checking: function, leaks, wiring, clearance, and overall function of the tool.
• Completes special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

Education and/or Experience

• Requires Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering degree, or related experience, or a combination of education and experience
• Preferred experience with SolidWorks
• Mathematical skills: make metric system conversions. Understanding of volume, pressure, forces, weight.
• Must have the ability to read and understand Mechanical Drawings, electrical schematics.
• Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and computer skills
• Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment required
