GENERAL SUMMARY: Under general supervision, performs technically acceptable computerized electrocardiograms on a routine and emergency basis for both in-patient and outpatient services. Applies digital and cassette Holter monitor recorders, performs electrocardiogram editing after physician over-read as well as transaction capture (billing). Performs other related duties as assigned. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED is required. Additional cardiovascular training in performing and interpreting EKG's or the equivalent. Six (6) months to one (1) year of experience as EKG technician preferred. BLS certified within 30 days of hire or transfer. EKG certification program preferred, but not required, Previous healthcare experience is helpful.
