Cape Fox Eagle Health, LLC is accepting resume for a Medical Review Officer (MRO) to support the Department of Transportation, Office of Inspector General.

The hourly rate for this position has been established at: $130.00 per hour. This rate represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. In addition, we offer a 401K with company match. This job will be posted until filled or withdrawn.

Responsibilities:



  • The physician will exercise perceptive judgement in applying agency medical standards by interpreting and evaluating exam results and other medical information to make medical clearance determinations for the Office of Inspector General, Department of Transportation law enforcement personnel. The MRO will make medical clearance determinations for reported medical or psychological conditions, medications, or injuries, or when an employee returns to duty after recovering from a medical or psychological condition or injury. The MRO may make recommendations regarding Fitness for Duty Examinations (FFDE) and/or Independent Medical Evaluations (IME) to determine if a condition or injury precludes safe performance of law enforcement duties.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and expertise in occupational medicine related to the safe performance of law enforcement duties.
  • Ensure medical qualification standard consistency and program compliance through internal standard operating procedures.
  • Demonstrate the ability to render medical clearance determination regarding whether the examinee can safely carry out law enforcement duties and drive a government owned vehicle.
  • Review results of the FFDE/IME medical examinations and any medical documentation from the employee's private physician to make a medical determination if further evaluations are necessary.
  • Provide a final report or findings and recommendations after reviewing medical documentation.
  • Be prepared to discuss medical cases and issues in detail with the DOT-OIG personnel.
