Summary of This Role
Works throughout the software development life cycle and performs in a utility capacity to create, design, code, debug, maintain, test, implement and validate applications with a broad understanding of a variety of languages and architectures. Analyzes existing applications or formulate logic for new applications, procedures, flowcharting, coding and debugging programs. Maintains and utilizes application and programming documents in the development of code. Recommends changes in development, maintenance and system standards. Creates appropriate deliverables and develops application implementation plans throughout the life cycle in a flexible development environment.
What Part Will You Play?
- Demonstrates subject matter expertise (SME) to develop complex code using both front and/or back end programming languages within multiple platforms as needed in collaboration with business and technology teams for internal and external client software solutions. Designs, creates, delivers, and advises others on complex program specifications for code development and support on multiple projects/issues with a wide understanding of the application / database to better align interactions and technologies.
- Provides SME analysis, modification, and development of complex code / unit testing in order to develop concise application documentation. Evaluates, develops and implements testing, validation requirements, and corrective measures for highly complex code deficiencies and provides systemic proposals.
- Participates in client facing meetings, joint venture discussions, vendor partnership teams to determine solution approaches.
- Provides SME recommendations to leadership on the design, development and enforcement of business / infrastructure application standards to include associated controls, procedures and monitoring to ensure compliance and accuracy of data. Applies a full and comprehensive understanding and in-depth knowledge of procedures, methodology and application standards to include Payment Card Industry (PCI) security compliance.
- Provides SME advice for estimates on highly complex initiatives, projects and issues.
- Performs on-the-job training and provides SME guidance to software engineers.
What Are We Looking For in This Role?
Hands-on, leads and develops highly technical solutions, sometimes with multiple skill-sets and/or locations, supporting application system development, production support and testing. Plans, coordinates and leads software development activities for assigned areas in support of client requests, strategic initiatives, product development and internal enhancements. Provides technical direction and undertakes complex problems and framework development. Takes responsibility for quality and timeliness, adjusting resources and escalating major issues, based on business needs and plans. Takes decisions when required and responsibility for issues escalates higher. Ensures methodology is followed and promotes high quality, on-time work. Drives resolutions of issues and roadblocks. Participates in the development of delivery plans and communicates these and progress with team(s). Evaluates industry and technical trends and developments and contributes to the development of application systems and testing. Develops strong relationships internally and with partners and clients and ensures the team has positive relationships. Acts as an ambassador and a senior subject matter expert in client meetings and stakeholders support. Ensures that application systems development processes and practices are compliant with corporate and regulatory standards (both domestic and international). Contributes to the development of IT policies and standards. Leads responses to internal and external audits and remediation of any issues. Contributes to the development of strategy, risk management, productivity and quality management within the team. Monitors and evaluates effectiveness of programs and development. Collaborates with senior management to perform continual process improvements that positively impact cost, revenue, performance efficiency, process development and solution delivery. Manages the transition to new tools and processes. May lead teams that perform testing and/or the relationships with vendors providing this service. Contributes to the development of testing strategy and plans. Acts as a senior escalation point for testing. May act as a senior technical subject matter expert for applications and development, acting as a senior escalation point on technical issues and creating solutions for complex problems and providing direction for own and other teams. Acts as a corporate resource. Not an exhaustive list; other duties as assigned. Will be on call as an escalation contact and to help resolve complex high severity issues
Preferably this role will be located in Columbus or Atlanta, Georgia and is a hybrid role requiring some days in the office and some remote work. This will be a hands-on technical role and will require daily technical collaboration across the teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business / Management Information Systems or related field
- Typically minimum of 10+ years - Professional Experience In Coding, Designing, Developing And Analyzing Data. Typically has a broad and comprehensive advanced knowledge of multiple opposing front / back end languages / technologies from the following but not limited to: two or more modern programming languages used in the enterprise, experience working with various APIs, external Services, experience with both relational and NoSQL Databases.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with react base web applications, and micro services
- Working experience on AWS Cloud Platform would be an added advantage
- Credit Card Industry, Banking or FinTech Industry experience is preferred
