The Cashier is a brand ambassador that will greet guests and process purchases through the electronic register system. Starting Rate: $21.00/hr Scope of Responsibilities Cashiering Greet each Guest using both verbal and non-verbal communication in a positive manner Process purchases using either scanner technology or electronic keypad Properly bag purchases--wrapping breakable items where necessary Up-sell to Guest using established and appropriate procedures Process final purchases with either proper cash handling techniques or credit card transactions Close each transaction with a friendly greeting and inviting the guest to return Guest Service When not processing purchases, assist guests on sales floor with purchases Utilize knowledge of products and pricing to satisfy guest inquiries and create up-sell opportunities Replenish stock of durable and perishable goods as needed Answer shop phone system and respond to guest service needs in a professional manner Regularly assist Chocolateers, Supervisors, and Management in monitoring guest activity and creating excitement with superior guest service Assist, when necessary, in pre-packing items for sale; gift-wrapping items for sale; inventory control and management Offer samples of product to guests Specific Knowledge & Skills Basic math skills Strong oral and written communication skills relevant to the requirements of the position Ability to work with little or no supervision Ability to work with a diverse work team and meet adversity with professionalism Ability to manage time effectively Computer literacy in register systems Knowledge of POS systems A Propensity to provide Superior Guest Service Education and/ Experience High School Diploma Preferred 0 -- 2 years minimum experience in retail/restaurant cashiering. *"Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records."* *For San Francisco based employees: In compliance with San Francisco ordinance, employees who operate within indoor dining settings must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as defined by the order of the health officer (C19-07y-Safer Return Together).
