JOB TITLE: Receiving Material Handler
JOB TYPE: Intermediate General Labor
LOCATION: Hanover, Pennsylvania

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Receiving Material Handler is responsible for receiving, storing, picking and distributing materials and products to the production areas in the different departments and within the Warehouse, and the work environment can be hot or cold.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
* Transports materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas of various departments.
* It is required to carry a radio to responds / answers calls on the radio, phone or emails to any questions or concerns of materials from any department.
* Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code also materials need to be placed according to allergen segregation and within safety regulations (wrapped and aligned correctly).
* Fills requisitions, work orders or requests for materials either by radio or emails or other stock items and distributes them to production areas.
* Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets.
* Marks materials with identifying information.
* Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
* Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
* Certified to drive material handling equipment and utilizes manual and automated material handling equipment.
* Transports stored items within the warehouse.
* Loads and unloads trailers of palletized and non-palletized product and also takes photos of incoming or outgoing load and log items and pictures for documentation.
* Practices and adheres to appropriate safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures for safe housekeeping and personal protection.
* Keeps work area/aisles clean, clear and free from obstructions and removes trash from work area floor.
* Stores supplies in designated areas.
* Follows instructions for safe lifting/carrying of various sizes, shapes, and weights; identifies/reports defective equipment.
* Reports all job-related injuries to supervision.
* Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed by using the computer.
* May prepare and takes a cycle count inventory of all merchandise; records count on cycle count sheets.
* Supports and participates in Continuous Improvement initiatives including 5S (sort, set, shine, standardize, and sustain).
* Must communicate with drivers and handle bill of lading in the absence of the coordinators along with follow all guidelines that coordinators give.
* Mandatory overtime may be required for employees on traditional shifts.
* May perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education: High School Diploma or GED is preferred, but not required.

Experience: 1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred, but not required. Previous experience with SAP or similar based WMS system; a minimum of 1 year experience in a warehouse position; previous forklift experience is preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The starting rate for this full-time, hourly position is $22.50

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
