For IT staff, Excel medical device integrations, and Real Time Location System (RTLS) solution is second to none when it comes to troubleshooting hospital beds and managing critical care devices.

As the Associate Director, Global Medical Affairs (MA), Connected Care group (CCG), you will provide overall leadership for the CCG Medical Affairs team. You will provide the highest level of expertise regarding patient care in the hospital setting, including deep medical and clinical practice expertise as well as an understanding of how patient data is collected and managed within Electronic Medical Records and other connected medical devices.

You will ensure that business unit products and solutions have high quality medical and clinical support through the leadership of a team of Medical Affairs associates. As the Associate Director MA you will be accountable for the department budget, development of global evidence generation and publication/communication strategies, coordination of global key thought leaders, and oversight of critical medical affairs sustaining activities to meet regulatory and safety requirements (i.e. Clinical Evaluation Reports, Post market clinical follow up plans). You will ensure the patient and healthcare provider prospective is represented when working with the business and regions on product strategies, development, and innovation.

You will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Medical Affairs vision, strategy and action plan in full alignment with the business unit strategies and functional strategy. You will be accountable for the collaboration with the Clinical Research, Strategy and Delivery, and Global Patient Safety teams within Worldwide Medical to ensure excellence in clinical trial work and patient safety for the Care Solutions products and solutions. You will ensure close collaboration with key cross-functional partners, such as R&D, Regulatory, Marketing, Quality, Legal, and Ethics & Compliance.

As the Associate Director MA, you will support interactions with regulatory agencies for new product development and as needed for post-market safety and compliance issues for Connected Care Group. You may also interact with external professional societies and non-governmental agencies on behalf of the business. You will be accountable to ensure that global policies and standards are implemented or if needed, created, and maintained for all aspects of Global Medical Affairs and will work collaboratively with Worldwide Medical Strategy and Delivery team and Regional MA leaders to ensure the same for regional MA. You will assure the highest standard of practice, ethics, scholarship and knowledge to drive the goals of the company.

What You'll Be Doing:

* Provide scientific knowledge and expertise to support the development of innovation in products for the Connected Care Group, this includes collaboration and accountability alongside device business areas.

* Develop a Medical Affairs strategy for the CCG GBU that is aligned and supports global business unit strategy and supports effective implementation and execution of the strategy.

* Provide medical expertise and knowledge to assure safety of Baxter products in development as well as those in the field.

* Collaborate with Worldwide Medical clinical research, and Strategy and Delivery teams in development and design of clinical trials to support successful launch and adoption of products.

* Provide medical expertise/ input and advise to R&D, clinical research, commercial, regulatory, manufacturing, legal and other functions.

* Provide medical leadership in product education by creating and providing strategic educational and training plans and materials for internal and external use.

* Provide expert medical guidance to medical affairs team members for exploratory, new product development and existing products.

* Develop medical and scientific relationship with KOLs/SMEs, and support advisory boards.

* Accountable for the development of and execution of global evidence generation strategy and publication strategy including HEOR.

* For the therapeutic area, shape an innovative and results-driven culture, ensuring effective and efficient development of products/technologies that are both market-focused as well as scientifically advanced.

* Accountable for the Medical Affairs budget and representing the clinical trial budget and global interaction spend for Care Solutions.

* Responsible for medical voice of the Customer, medical content of regulatory submissions, and medical support in launch and maintenance of products in the market.

* Provide key slate and scale of medical talent to the GBU MA team effectively mentoring, developing and recruiting top talent and facilitating career development and retention.

* Provide leadership to the MA team guiding them in terms of prioritization, problem resolution, process clarification, referrals to appropriate experts, etc.

Your Team:

Reporting directly to the Vice President Medical Affairs (MA), Healthcare and Systems Technology you will lead 1 direct report.

Your Location:

You will work on-site from our office located in Raleigh, NC, one of the national hubs for HealthCare Technology. Baxter is committed to supporting the needs for flexibility in the workplace. We do so through our flexible workplace policy which includes a required minimum number of days a week onsite. This policy provides the benefits of connecting and collaborating in-person in support of our Mission. The flexible workplace policy is subject to local laws and legal requirements. At its discretion, Baxter may decide to adjust, suspend, or discontinue as business needs change.

What You'll Bring:

* Bachelor's degree is required. Nursing or other clinical degree is preferred.

* Proven knowledge and expertise in general medical/clinical practice across the care settings in the hospital

* Greater than 5 years of Industry experience with both global and regional experience preferred

* Deep understanding the medical device and digital health/connected care product development is required

* Excellent communication skills written and verbal as well as presentation skills in English

* Ability to lead and create high performing teams

* Ability to manage and prioritize competing activities and provide clear guidance to team

* Ability to work with cross functional teams, across regions/countries and external partners

* Ability to work with external stakeholders such as MOH, regulatory bodies/agencies, professional organization, policy makers/providers among others.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $184,000 - $253,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses,
