About the Job

This is a Temporary Casual position located in Wilson Library on the West Bank Campus. It is a computer-based position, as you will be processing loan requests for library patrons. This position is in the Resource Sharing Area. The Request Fulfillment Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring efficient, accurate, and timely processing of interlibrary loan requests. The Assistant is expected to maintain and promote a high standard of service for all participating libraries throughout the Minitex region.

Hours are 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Monday and Tuesday.

This position is in-person only - no remote work available.

Responsibilities

Duties include:

Request Fulfillment Assistant (100%)

  • Initiating referral requests to off-campus libraries on interlibrary loan systems-70%
  • Verifying and identifying library locations for requested materials-20%
  • Verifying that bibliographic information is correct- 5%
  • Additional tasks as needed- 5%
Qualifications

Required:

  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independent or collaboratively.
  • Good verbal and written communication.
  • Comfortable using Windows OS computers.
  • Comfortable using multiple computer monitors.

Preferred:

  • Proficient in ILL systems such as Alma and OCLC WorldShare.
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $17.00 - $18.00/hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
